25 things to do at McDonald's

People loved my last post. So I thought I would post another list of 25 things.
Here are 25 funny things to do at McDonald's. Most of these are things I have witnessed. I have done a few of these things, others I have only heard stories of. In my opinion McDonald's and Walmart are the two places in the world where you can act as weird as you want, and fit right in.

1. Sit in a corner and pretend like you’re making out with yourself. (This works even better when 2 people are doing it separately.)

2. Pay entirely in pennies.

3. Tell them you require three copies of the receipt for filing reasons.

4. Order a shake, and tell them you want bacon with it. If they say no, complain loudly for others to hear, and scream out, "I guess you really don't wana see me smile do you, because right now I don't exactly feel like smiling in light of the extenuating circumstances!"

5. Ask to see the manager, then complain to him about all of life’s problems. If they don’t let you talk to the manager, walk out muttering, “You're gonna be reading about this in the papers.”

6. While you’re in line, jump up and down like you’re having a spazz attack and scream repeatedly, “YO QUIERO TACO BELL!”

7. Sell White Castle food in the restrooms. Then when people get food poisoning you can blame it on McDonald’s.

8. Walk in wearing a Burger King hat. (Great when 3 or 4 people do this at the same time.)

9. Bring in a fart machine and keep setting it off, meanwhile making comments like, “Man, I knew I shouldn’t have eaten here.”

10. Return your food and tell them you’re allergic to nuclear waste mixed with gasoline byproducts.

11. Bring in a video camera and tell them they’re live on 20/20. (You should see the looks on their faces!)

12. Stand on a table with a megaphone and whenever somebody complains say, “This isn’t Burger King, you can’t have it your way.”

13. Flood the soda fountain machine. (It’s more interesting than flooding toilets.)

14. Walk to the drive-thru window and order. (If you really wanna tick ‘em off, skateboard.)

15. Take about 30 or so straws and blow all the wrappers at people. If anyone gives you a look, act a bit too innocent.

16. Speak gibberish, and act confused when they try to tell you that they don’t know how to speak gibberish too.

17. Chuck something at one of the employees. (I bet you five bucks they chuck it back.)

18. Chuck Skittles, M&Ms, or other small candy back into the cooking area.

19. Take two bites out of your burger, then tell the employee it’s cold and ask for a new one. Then repeat. And repeat. And repeat.”

20. Act like a schizo while you’re ordering. (“I’ll have a cheeseburger.” “No, chicken nuggets!” “Cheeseburger!”) Slap yourself to make it look convincing.

21. Climb on top the Play Place. When they tell you to come down, fall off and pretend your hurt, then threaten to sue.

22. When it’s your turn to order, start a conversation with the employee. Ask them how was their day, etc. When someone gets ticked and calls for the manager, scram, or start a conversation with him too.

23. Try to stuff your coins sideways into the charity box. Then when they don’t fit, start complaining loudly about how McDonald’s is so greedy and how they’re ripping off their charities. (Act really outraged about it.)

24. Try to bribe an employee for cheaper food. (Keep any food they give you.)

25. Walk in and go sit down in a seat, then grab the little table advertisement thingy, (you know what I'm talking about, the triangular thingy by the salt and pepper, yeah that.) Well look at it turning it over and over and then say defiantly, "I know what I'm going to order, I'm ready!" After about five minutes, scream out, "Waiter!" Then after about five more minutes get up, and stomp out of the restaurant with the advertisement thingy. Then turn arround, come back in, and throw the advertisement thingy at the cashier and yell, "Your service sucks! You just lost yourself a customer, you hear that! A customer! Your not gonna see me smile!"

25 things I have thought (FUNNY)

Here are 25 things I have thought, that I think may be very common:

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. MapQuest really needs to start their directions on # 5.
I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray?

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

16. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

17. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

19. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

20. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

21. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

22. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

23. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

24.When you are blue, I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

25.When you fall, I'll pick you up and dust you off-- After I laugh!!!

A challenging thought

We preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

Think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight.

We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored! To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless. We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; 13 when we are slandered, we answer kindly. We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world—right up to this moment.

Saying goodbye to friends

When a good friend moves away, it is a bittersweet time. It is sad that you will not be seeing them any more, your days of making memories are done, but you also are happy for them. It is a new adventure for them, and good things are in their future.
I tend to get a little jealous when some one leaves, just because I have always had the desire to move away myself.
When a good friend moves away, it is common to reminisce on the memories of that friendship.
Wednesday I found out a friend was moving, Friday she was gone. She has been on my mind, and it got me to thinking about a few of my dearest friends through the years. I would like to share a bit about them.
Rebecca Marie

Rebecca was my very first best friend. We met in preschool, and clicked instantly. We both loved bananas, so we would bring them for snack every day. But we had a ritual, we could not just open our lunch box and eat the banana. We had say "Drum roll please" then join in an air drum roll. Then open our box and sing, "Da da da dum!" Then pull out the banana, use it as a microphone to sing "Jesus loves me" rapper style. Then we were finally free to eat our microphone.
She and I were best friends for three years (two years of preschool, and kindergarten) We had a dream of building a fort house and having a giant tea party for the whole world to come to. This picture is from when we finally had a tea party with several friends.
Rebecca had some bad memories of her mom, then her mom left her life. One of my last memories of Rebecca was a few days before kindergarten ended. She came and told me that her dad got a job and was getting married to a lady in Idaho. She said she would not be coming to 1st grade with me. She gave me a pretty necklace, (which I still have) and we promised to never forget each other. Our eyes both were filled with tears when our teacher (Mrs. Croall) came over and asked us what was wrong. We both looked up at her then at each other, then dashed to weep dramatically in her arms. I am certain she must have been a bit confused. When we finally calmed we looked at our teachers shirt, and realized it was completely drenched. This made us all giggle.
Emily "Elmers"

Emily came to my class in 5th grade. She was always very kind to me, and often the only person at school who would talk to me. I went through a phase where I had some pretty bad choice of friends. In 9th grade when I knew it was time to turn my life around, she was the first person waiting to welcome me into my new life.
One of my funniest memories with Em was a day I joked about her beating up a mutual friend, who happened to be two months younger than her. I declared out loud, "Oh Emily, you're gonna beat up a little kid!" Before we knew it, a rumor had spread across the whole school that Emily, the sweetest, most soft spoken, and gentle person in the world, had been beating up little children on the playground.
We have so many memories of beach trips, hiking, and class room adventures. One of my favorite hiking memories was when the flies were attacking her sister's hairspray. She had to hide under a blanket meant for our piknick.
We found a little cafe that we loved going to. Emily went away for college, and I was sad that it was the end of our friendship. These days we still chat, and make time to see each other every few months, and we have started a tradition of going back to that cafe every time we get to see each other.
Shanna

Shanna and I met only a short time ago. She is actually the inspiration for this post. She is the first person I opened up to and admitted the problems with forgiveness I have had the past 2 years. She helped me to put everything in perspective, and see the error of my ways.
Shanna told me she will never forget the day she met me, because when I walked into her apartment, I tracked mud all across her floor. You have no idea how badly that made me blush.
A while later 5 of us went for a late night walk through town. I made mention of how I get urges late at night to go walk, but never have any one to go with me. She said she has the same thing, and she would gladly go any time I wanted. All I would do was send her a text, and hour later we would be walking through town being noisy and silly.
Shanna agreed to celebrate "National Make Some One Feel Awkward" day with me, but going through the mall wearing a Chinese dress and bunny ears, while we pretended to speak a different language.
She gave me a tour of the abandoned mill in town, and stayed up until 6am chatting about life in her apartment. We had some interesting experiences with grave yard shift workers at McDonald's, and she got me addicted to McFrappe's.
There is a restraunt in town that has been there longer than I have, and I have never eaten at. She got me to go, where I had world's largest sausage link. I never told her that I had not eaten a sausage link since I was 7.

Shanna told me Wednesday that she was going back to live with her parents, and two days later she is gone.
It seemed very sudden, and I was a bit shocked. I don't know what the future holds for our friendship now, but when I think of the few short months I knew her, I can't hold back a smile.

Every person who comes into our life has an impact on us, no matter how big or small. These are just a few of the friends I have said farewell to, making it easier to remember all the good times. I am thankful for all my good friends. Em, Shanna, Lydia, Heidi, Paul, Amber, awe heck I could go on for ever...you know who you are.
Thank God for good friends!

Shanna, Em, Rebecca, if you read this I hope you feel special. Shanna, I am gonna miss our midnight strolls!

Summer memories

It is a cold chilly day today. If you are ever around me for longer than a minute, you most likely will hear me mention how mush I dislike winter. There is snow all around from the past two days. It has warmed up to 35 degrees today so it is starting to melt. 35 is about 50 degrees below the temp I like.
As I sit here craving for summer to come, I think it's a good time to share a fun summer memory. Maybe I will do a few over the next few days. :)

It was late June or early July of this last summer. My parents were gone for the week. My brother Nick and I had been doing a lot of different activities that week, and this was the one day we both had nothing to do. We didn't like having nothing, being that we were used to having too much.
Around 2 A.M. and we both were still wide awake, complaining to each other about how bored we were. That is when the idea popped in my head that we should go on a walk. Ha ha, random, I know.
We headed out the door in and were lead by the bright moon and stars in the clear sky. We had brought flashlights but did not end up needing them.
On our little gravel road every one owns dogs. So we had to sneak as we traveled in hopes of not waking up the whole street. We were almost to the end of the road, when the house with 6 labs broke out in intense barking. We'd been caught.
We were nervous about what a person would think, no matter what excuse we found for why we were out at 2 am. The person in the house came out and yelled at the dogs to shut up. We continued walking a little more and the dogs barked even more passionately. So she let out a holler, "Is some one out there?" We stood frozen, both of us wanting to burst out in giggles.
The barking finally ceased and the neighbor went back inside, we quietly kept treading on. We finally got to the pavement, where we had planned to turn around, but we decided we did not want to pass by those dogs again, so instead we walked to the alternate way to our house, about 2 miles away. Once we hit the pavement, the houses are a little further back from the road, and are more spaced apart. So we had enough privacy to talk and laugh. It was fun.
We were about half way to our house, and I was saying how freaked out I would be if I saw 2 people walking by at 2am. Just then we passed a house, and heard the door lock. We laughed some what loudly due to the funny timing.
We went a bit further, and I told Nick how I had always had a fascination with the idea of laying in the middle of the road. We got to a long straight part of the road, and he said, "Let's do it!" So we laid there in the middle of the road, fulfilling one of my life long dreams, and I was thrilled when the moment was topped off by seeing 2 shooting stars.
The shooting start inspired my brother's question if I was aware my camera had the tool to take pictures of the stars. I got very excited and begged him to do it. So we finished the fun "morning" by going back home and grabbing my camera, to shoot the stars.

Some of the best times, are the most random.

Ha ha, I wish this had been mine! LOL

Want it done? DO IT!

Most people see the problems of the world, and want some one to do something about it. I see what is wrong, and want to do something about it.
As the bible says, "The harvest is mending, but the workers are so few."
I found a good article that explains perfectly the frustration I have been having. It seems I have all these people demanding some one help, but when I try to get them to help, there is always an excuse as to why they cannot.
This is copied and pasted from snopes.com:

"Slacktivism

We can't claim credit for having coined this term, nor do we know its actual origin, but we love it nonetheless. Slacktivism is the search for the ultimate feel-good that derives from having come to society's rescue without actually getting one's hands dirty, volunteering any of one's time, or opening one's wallet. It's slacktivism that prompts us to forward appeals for business cards on behalf of a dying child intent upon having his name recorded in the Guinness World Book of Records or exhortations to others to continue circulating a particular e-mail because some big company has supposedly promised that every forward will generate monies for the care of a languishing tot. Likewise, it's slacktivism that prompts us to want to join a boycott of designated gas companies or eschew buying gasoline on a particular day rather than reduce our personal consumption of fossil fuels by driving less and taking the bus more often. Slacktivism comes in many forms, but its defining characteristic is its central theme of doing good with little or no effort on the part of the person inspired to participate, through the mechanisms of forwarding, exhorting, collecting, or e-signing."

Go ahead and sign+forward that next e-petition, but before you do, please also go work up a sweat, get your hands dirty, volunteer!
Asking for action is nothing with out each of us doing the acting.
Peace♥♥

What is that?

Today I woke up and decided it was a good day to rome around the woods surrounding my house. We live on 10 acres of land in about 1000 acres of logging country. There is a little creek at the edge of our land, that I have not visited in at least 3 years. I made my way out the door and was instantly greeted by the pouring rain. But being that I have lived in Oregon for 18 years, I am numb to the rain(lol). I just put on my mud boots and treaded on. I had to turn back to the house for pruners when I discovered the trail was almost non existent due to over grown blackberries.
As I went on I walked to parts that I never have before. It was fun. There are few things more therapeutic then spending time in the quiet of nature.

As I made my way down to the creek I noticed a tree with a large white streak on it. I thought it was a cool formation of tree sap. I got up to it and poked it, discovering it was a slimy gooey something with two slugs in it.

That is what inspired the title of this entry. I can't figure out, what is that?
Being that my mind tends to go to the gutter, I got back to my house and searched the internet for "slug mating." It looks like it, but their "product" is the size of a dime. The stuff I found was about as big as my boot.

So do you have an idea what it is? Please add a comment to help me solve my mystery

Isn't it amazing?

Today is Christmas day. For two years, Christmas day has also been the marker of the day my dreams were crushed, when I realized ORU was not going to happen.
I had prayed and prayed that God would make a way. But that day, I heard him gently say, "Now not." I cried a bit, but I felt peace. These two posts pretty much sum up the thoughts around that time: First Here and then here
Today December 25 has a new meaning to me. The day 2yr old murder victim Sylar Newton's abusers were both put behind bars. As I celebrated a bittersweet celebration for justice, I realized I am at a place in life I never imagined I would be.
It amazes me how much has changed in the past two years. I changed majors twice, I have gone from wanting to be a missionary nurse, to a child services agent. I have gone from shy and overly proud, to outspoken for what is right, and humbled. I have gone from fear of commitment and leadership, to president and co-founder of a non profit organization.
Every day I am learning more about my self, and every day I am seeing how different my life would have been if God had given me what I wanted, instead of what I needed. I am so thankful I have him guiding my steps, even when I don't think it's fair.
I would not say God kept me home just to start the foundation, because I refuse to think God wanted Sylar to die. He kept me home, where I had the experiences I did, that humbled me, shaped me, and made me yearn for what is right. Now that the terrible has happened, due to those two's terrible decisions, I feel honored that God is using me to help make good come from it. Genesis 50:20

The foundation is up and running. We are now supporting our first survivor. Sending him cards and gifts. We were just awarded $1000 this week! We are still working out exactly how that will be used.
In the new year, the whole world will be hearing the name "Sylar Newton Foundation" alot more, as we work to change the world.
Little Sylar, you have changed my life, I hope this year I make you proud! <3
